Often referred to as the “Prince of Darkness” and the “Godfather of Heavy Metal,” Osbourne’s solo career has been a critical and commercial success, marked by legendary musicians and iconic albums that helped define heavy metal in the 1980s and beyond.Formation of the Ozzy Osbourne Band After being fired from Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne embarked on a solo career, initially with doubts about his future. He quickly began working on his debut solo album, “Blizzard of Ozz” (1980), which became a huge success and launched his career as a solo artist. Central to the formation of Osbourne’s solo sound was his collaboration with guitarist Randy Rhoads, whose virtuosic playing became a cornerstone of Osbourne’s early success.Key Lineups and Musicians Over the years, Ozzy Osbourne has worked with a number of world-class musicians, with the band lineup evolving frequently.
