* This box is not perfect, this box is alive, the solid wood it is made of has a life and identity of its own just like people’s fingerprints, wood has a unique, unrepeatable grain pattern, no one is better at wood carving than time, no one else but nature itself has enough patience to work on wood’s veins and give them shapes incomprehensible to the human mind … We do have perfect boxes, though, which are perfectly similar to each other, you can find them in our storefront * It’s been a long time since these boxes were first manufactured, it is enough to go down the vertical line of time, as if on an invisible slide, to reach the first documented account of these boxes, their history begins around the year 1400 and the wood from Transylvanian forests, in the land of Count Dracula, has always given them a mystical air, closely related to the traditions of this place * You need to touch the wood’s veins, you need to take a look deep inside it and you need to breathe in its natural scent in order to connect to the past that this box came from in the present … Its special colouring is given by the paint made with natural oils * The box has three hidden compartments, it’s like a medium difficulty puzzle, to open it six steps are needed, six small steps for mankind, six giant leaps for man 🙂 You can slip something inside (a flower, a poem, a letter) to give extra charm to your gift, the box can also be a vehicle to send a message to someone dear, all you need to do is write a note and put it inside … The box comes with a blank label so you can write anything on it WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS THAT IT COMES FROM THE HEART * This box is made in our workshop in very, very small batches, nowhere in the world will you find a similar box, the value for money is the best for the plain reason that profit is not our main goal, what matters here is preserving my family’s tradition, passion and memory are more important than profit * The box is made from 100% solid larch wood, carefully chosen from the Transylvanian forests near Bran, using the same techniques that my great-grandfather Constantin used in 1900, with no electric tools, everything is crafted by hand, and soul is poured into it “The soul is the best tool anyone can use” The lacquers we use to breathe colour and life into the boxes are a mix of natural oils and beeswax, based on a local recipe, unique in the world * Our hearts leap with joy on the fields of our emotional memory when we make these boxes just like our great-grandparents crafted them, using only their hands, they are the only tools that have a soul This box is truly special, and its individuality is rooted in a past steeped in history, passion, and love. Made from solid larch wood, using ancient woodworking techniques, this box has a singular charm. It is as if you held a dream that travelled for hundreds of years to reach you.
