Are you fancing issues with your Roland D70 because the Low side keys are no longer working? Spend some time here to undestand what to do. HALG has a solution for you! We know that many Roland D70 users are suffering with this problem, and we spend months into Enginnering redesig it. This board was created to be a replacement of your flex membrane that connects your keypad to the bottom of your keyframe. Roland Original LOW and HI membrane are heated to connect with keypad. Over the years with temperature, humidity and dust, the connection gets bad. The board will sit on top of Roland D70 keypad flex PCB and it will make a connection to your bottom board with the flex cable. The kit is composed by a HALG SMCD16 PCB LOW + Flat Cable + Wire glue. A manual with 7 pages instructions is provided and a youtube video to help you install it. This board is intended to fix the bad connection between your Roland keypad membrane to the bottom original connector board. Important disclosure. With this solution of the new PCB and kit, HALG reserves the right to not assume liability or responsibility for your keypad issues, meaning if your keypad has no carbon contact to close connection of the keys by the rubber contact, this board will NOT fix your problem. By long time studying, and researching with Roland D70 users, and owners that the SMCD connection is the main problem. As a simple procedure that’s how you install the kit: 1 – Remove the SMCD16 (low side) parts from your Roland D70 keyboard. The SMCD16 original membrane is most of the time where the connections are bad from the keys. 2 – Clean the contacts with Isopropyl Alcohol (HALG Board and Roland D70 key membrane) 3 – Place HALG SMCD16 PCB in place of the older SMCD16 membrane, align the through hole PADS 4 – Reinstall the original Roland D70 black rivets to secure the board, or use screws 4-40 thread size x 5/16” length with Serrated 4-40 Nuts or use lock washer nut. HALG Board must be well secured and not move anymore from this point on. 5 – Apply the SureHold Wire-Glue on the throuhole HALG PCB PADS, and let it glue for 24h. 6 – Connect HALG new Flat cable with SMCD16, and the other end to the bottom Rolland original Connector. 7 – You are ready to add the keys and test the connections. This procedure here is just so you can undestand the concept.
