eBay For auction is a lovely teacup and saucer set made by Rosina of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. The Rosina name was a trade name used from the Queen’s Pottery for part of their wares. The footed cup measures approximately 2 1/8″ tall at the rim of the cup and 2 3/8″ at the top of the handle. The cup measures 3 7/8″ wide at the rim of the cup. The base of the cup measures 1 11/16″ wide. The saucer is 1″ tall and is 5 1/2″ in diameter. The pattern consists of a band of Tiger and Day Lilies in full bloom encircling the entire inside walls of the teacup. There are multicolored flowers of blue, pink, yellow and white with leaves set on a speckled background. You can also see the yellow pistils on the blooms and the effect is just lovely. The bottom center of the cup is left plain as well as the center of the saucer. The saucer is decorated the same fashion as the teacup. The exterior of the cup is plain except for a single band of gold encircling the belly of the cup as well as where the foot is attached. The rim, foot and handle are trimmed with gold as well as the saucer. The teacup and saucer are in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The pieces are signed “Rosina, Bone China, Made in England”. There is a crown under the “Rosina” logo and pattern number 4845A written in freehand in brown on the bottom of the cup. The teacup and saucer were made circa 1948-1950’s. PLEASE READ BELOW I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July of this year 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 11.7% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 11.7%. This is an increase of 8.8% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 11.7% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don’t agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
